Where to Eat in Victoria, BC ?

Myself, I am not even going out tonight. We are staying home for once and having snacks and drinks while watching a movie.

It's the end of another year and the beginning of a new one. All of us at VictoriaNightOut.com wishes everyone a safe and prosperous new year and Thanks to all that have, so far, supported our entertainment site.

Until next time...

Nightclubs in Victoria, BC. New Years Eve is Now !

Well, my website, VictoriaNightOut.com is not really ready for this New Years Eve but next year it will the place to have your entertainment posting placed and the place to search for the best place to go out for an awesome night of fun and good food.

I also just bought today, a led scrolling messenger for the back window of my 1980 Turbo Trans Am. It's really easy to read, didn't cost much and hopefully will help me get the word out about VictoriaNightOut.com

Until next time...

Restaurants in Victoria, BC

I don't really hang out at restaurants on Christmas eve or Christmas day either but I am wondering just how busy they are on those days.

If I was out doing last minute shopping all day I would certainly not want to go home and start cooking on Xmas eve. I know there are a few places that serve a great turkey dinner on Xmas day but I have never eaten out in a restaurant on Xmas day. Maybe we should try it next year. Heck, we can have the family over on boxing day, or any day, for that matter. Where would we go though ? I don't have a clue.

You have probably read some of my other blog posts stating that I have recently started a free search or posting site for local Victoria, BC restaurants, bars, accomodations and bands. It's called VictoriaNightOut.com I hope by next Christmas I will be able to search my own website and see tons of postings with Xmas dinner specials. I am counting on alot of restaurants in Victoria to find there way to our website, post a free listing and give us all the details of why we should pick their place to go out and have their delicious holiday meal.

Remember, if you know someone that runs a restaurant in Victoria, tell them about the new website that will showcase their business for free.

Until next time....

Eating Out Victoria. Variety Abounds, Where ?

Eating out in Victoria, Bc is always a really great experience. Picking where to go can be difficult though. There are just too many to choose from. Dining out in Victoria is one of my favourite things to do. And, because almost every place to eat has a website these days, I don't go for the phonebook anymore. I usually Google it. You know what to search. Eating out in Victoria, breakfast in Victoria, fine dining in Victoria etc.

What you really need to search restaurants, bars, hotels. motels, coffee bars and generally fun places to go is a local website where it is All listed. Hopefully, that's what VictoriaNightOut.com will be in the very near future. Most Victoria businesses and residents don't even know it exists but it does. It still does not have many listings but it is slowly growing and I want it to be THE Victoria Entertainment search site.

If you read this, have a business that fits our categories and maybe need a bit more free advertising, please go to VictoriaNightOut.com and post a free business profile.

Until next time.

Victoria, BC Entertainment, The Olden Days

No, I just mean when I used to go out every night. I remember a place on lower Johnson St(I think) that was open after hours, even after the bars closed at 2am. The door wasn't right out on the main street. You had to walk up a dark alley, then go up a long set of stairs. It was really dark and the dance floor had huge 3 foot tiles, or maybe it was painted, in a checker board pattern.

Being after hours, it was not licensed but everyone seemed to have a bottle of something to mix with their pop. I can remember the seats. They were about 4 feet across, hexagonal, padded and no backrests in sight. There must have been lamps inside the bottoms because the light came through the tiny star and moon patterns that were cut into the side panels. It looked cool, and a bit blurry by the time I got there.

After the dancing and downing all of our "mixed drinks" we would sometimes go to Pauls Restaurant. It was open 24 hours and had kind of a family style menu. The one I went to the most was closer to town. The one with the upstairs lounge surrounded by copper. Man, it takes a long time for copper to rot. My other most popular Paul's was kitty corner from Denny's but it is long gone now.

It was so busy at the downtown Pauls that people waiting for tables would sit on the low, 9 inch wide window sill close to their friends that already had a table. I don't know what their hours are now so I hope Pauls will post a profile on VictoriaNightOut.com so everyone will know for sure.

The nightlife in Victoria was alot of fun then and still is now.

A NightOut in Victoria, BC. Remember When ?

Any of you out there that are about my age will remember " the good ol' days ". No, I'm not going to tell my age. You will figure out my approximate age if you continue reading on.

One of my most favourite places to hang out years ago was called Decadance. Some may recall the bubble tubes in the wall in the upper lounge and the huge bubble tubes at the corners of the dance floor. Decadance was at the corner of Pandora and Government Streets. Even before that place opened, the Century Inn had a dining room where the dance floor ended up and the lounge servers were dressed in flimsy harem costumes.

They new me quite well there. I probably dropped by too often. One of the daytime bartenders used to walk up to my spot at the bar daily and whisper " if anyone asks, this is yours " as he slides over his half-downed scotch and water. He was a great person though and I usually got a free drink out of the deal.

A ton of you will remember where you ate late at night after the bars kicked you out into the street. We went to Romeos, Pauls, Denny's, remember ? I still go to those 3 restaurants, just not as late. My best memories were of Coffee Macs. That restaurant was, for me anyways, The Most entertaining night-time place in Victoria. I loved it. Watching all the different types, sober or not, that came in to fill their belly. THAT was a nightout in Victoria.

The nightlife in Victoria is still out there. It's different, but still a great time.

More nostalgia soon.

Hopefully, Everyone's Just Too Busy !

Because, I gave out about 20 business cards each with a cover letter yesterday but no one has listed their business yet. Oh well, it's only been one day and maybe they are really busy trying to satisfy all those frantic shoppers. I don't blame them. Busting their butts everyday to get as much as they can out of the holiday shopping rush. I probably wouldn't have the time or the energy to sit at my laptop at the end of the day just to post something that might make me Even Busier !

If you are one of those busy business owners or managers, please try to post your business listing on VictoriaNightOut.com when things slow down a bit, especially in the beginning of January.
I would really appreciate it. Until Next Time.

Victoria Nightlife ? In This Cold ?

Yep, the nightlife in Victoria is still going on. The cold does not stop it. The darkness does not stop it. The poor economy does not stop it. The nightlife continues and nothing can really stop it. The nightlife in Victoria is going to go on and on. That's why VictoriaNightOut.com is going to go on forever. Restaurants, bars, bands, hotels, motels and any place that has to do with entertainment in Victoria should start posting a free business listing there. It does a business good.

Victoria Nightlife Search Site

VictoriaNightOut.com used to be The Only site in Canada from this company but not anymore. There is a NightOut.com in Montreal, Canada. Welcome to the team, especially the Canadian team.

I did not get out today to give out letters and business cards and I also may not tomorrow. I want to make sure everything is right first. The card, the letter and the timing. I am not going to hand out my cards at businesses peak hours. That is probably the easiest way to piss them off. Then I would never hear from them again unless they became desparate. Won't happen.

Anyways, if you own or run an entertainment type biz in the Victoria, BC area, feel free to post a listing on our site. If you are anyone else reading this, please bookmark our VNO.com site so that if there is a chance that you get near Victoria, you can browse it and pick a few of the awesome places to have fun and enjoy.

Talk Soon Kay ?

Entertainment in Victoria, BC. New Search For Site

Tomorrow is the day I start getting entertainment business listings for our website. It will be interesting to see how fast or slow people signup on the site. Most will wait to see if others sign on and others will get on it right away.

All I can say is, Why Not ? It's free for 6 months and I hope that all the ad spots are sold so that I do not have to charge a tiny amount to the postees so we can keep the site afloat.

Oh No ! Not another Entertainment and Dining search site

This one is going be a little bit different. VictoriaNightOut.com in Victoria, BC, Canada is not going to have ads about the best deal on a set of bedsheets or where to get a lawnmower sharpened. This site will ONLY have Victoria area business listings and advertising that are category specific.

The business listings will come from owners and managers with businesses in the categories of dining, bars, entertainment, accomodations and bands. The extra 100 ad spots will be filled by closely related businesses or from others that have already listed and want more exposure.

Gets you wondering doesn't it ? Closely related businesses ? There's quite a few really. Limo companies, taxi companies, car rental agencies, bus transit authority, maybe even a tuxedo rental store. I will think of more for my next post.

Anyways, whether you will be searching VictoriaNightOut.com or posting a listing or ad, please have a look at my new site and bookmark it to your favorites. Next Time.

Coming Soon ! A New Victoria BC, Day and Night Entertainment Search Site

It's almost 2110 and the Winter Games are coming in the New Year to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The website I am starting is not about Vancouver. It's going to be an online entertainment guide to Victoria, BC's dining out, bars, entertainment, accomodations and bands. This site will be allowing businesses to list their company as long as they are within those 5 categories I just mentioned.

We will also be asking very closely related businesses to purchase some ad spaces available on the site. There are a limited amount of space for the ads so they will be gone fast.

I want as many as I can get listed before the holiday season starts and a ton more before the Games get started. There will be alot of visitors popping over to the Island and Victoria for a visit. We are going to want to show them Victoria's Best in Entertainment.

I will post again as soon as myself and the new website are ready. Make sure to bookmark this blog page in your favourites.

If you have questions even before the site is up, just use my business email

Product/Website Review: Traffic Resort

Traffic Resort is a new site that says it guarantees more CONVERTING web visitors and online advertising with very little effort or cost. So I decided to put it to the test...

My first impression was the site looks professional and clean, with an attractive look and feel. It is easy to read and understand. Joining the site was easy and painless--they do offer 2 upgrade options but they are not required to gain the benefits.

The Members Area is very well laid out and intuitive--I could figure out what to do after only a few minutes and was able to get up and running in less than 5 minutes. Inside the site, you create links and ads--the links you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into "Traffic Resort" links. You create ads for anything you want to promote using the Traffic Resort Ad Generator, which is very easy to use. You can create as many links and as many ads as you like. And they are organized in a logical way--links are displayed in the order you create them but also your 5 most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference. Also, since the link generator is the tool you'll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login. Very smart!

After you've created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic. Just use and promote the new Traffic Resort link instead of the original source link you had. Every time the Traffic Resort link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom. It displays an ad PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Traffic Resort. So if anyone clicks the Traffic Resort image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral. It's a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Traffic Resort links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members' links get clicked. So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.

And this works virally--meaning as you make referrals into Traffic Resort (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Traffic Resort image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks. And this works up to 5 levels deep. So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Traffic Resort also.

I didn't get to test the full effect of a big downline yet (I just got the tool) but I can tell you the rest of the site works exactly as stated--my links got clicked, I earned credits, and my ads got displayed. Traffic Resort even tracked my results so I know how many clicks and how many ad displays. That was an impressive unadvertised extra feature.

There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all--downline emailing. You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Traffic Resort really shines. They took time to make the emailing often enough that it's valuable as a user, but no so often that it's a burden to your downline. But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again. Now THAT's cool.

Overall I have to say I am impressed with Traffic Resort. It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising to any webpage.

The Path to Take. You Choose.

You ONLY have one life to live and far too many people leave their life to chance. That's where it all goes wrong......

Alot of us find ourselves working in a 9 to 5 job we don't even like until we retire. These days there is no such thing as job security so it will probably be at least 7 different jobs during a lifetime.

You will be unappreciated and unrewarded by your bosses but you may get a nice watch when you finally retire. That's if you can afford to retire at age 65.

I hope my blog will help others realize that the path their life is taking could be the wrong one and that there are choices out there. You don't have to be a slave to "the daily grind". You can make a choice and change the path your family's life takes.

Here are a few facts first..........

About 95% of the brick and mortar businesses where you live end up failing and closing their doors forever. That's after working long hours everyday just to make sure they pay staff and the rent.

85% of workers hate the job they are in.

A high % of those people retire and die poor.

================

I want to show as many people as I can that they can earn a decent income from home with only a laptop and some knowledge. I want them to earn while they sleep, while they are in the Bahamas and even when they are driving the kids to school.

All that is possible and all you have to do is make a choice. The right choice.

If you are at all interested, email me at elcan71@telus.net
